Chêne Vineyards hosts events for graduations, weddings, and other special occasions.  To host an event, you will be required to agree to the terms and conditions outlined in our  Event Agreement. Below are the highlights of what’s in the Event Agreement. You can obtain a copy of the actual agreement by sending us an email.

  1. Maximum Capacity. Events shall not exceed 25 total guests. The 25 guest capacity is a strict limit.
  2. Event Deposit. The event fee is due at signing. Contact us for current rates.. The security deposit is $5000 and will be returned if/when the property passes inspection after the event.
  3. Liability Insurance. We work with Santa Barbara Insurance Agency and they will set up your coverage. The fee is $150.00 and we will help coordinate.
  4. Portable Toilet. A portable toilet is required for an event exceeding 10 guests. This is because we are on a septic system. We use a local company and their portable toilets have been great. Rates run $210 to $500 depending on the model you prefer. We will help you coordinate this.
  5. No Smoking. No smoking in the house or on the property. Any discarded cigarette butts will be fined $100 per.
  6. Trash. All food and beverage waste and trash generated by the event must be carried off site (by the catering company or by you).
  7. Parking. Guest may only park on the gravel driveway and must not park along the shared driveway leading up to the property and runs along the vineyard.
  8. Indemnification. You must agree to our indemnification clause, which indemnifies Chêne Vineyards against any demands, suits, judgments, settlements, claims, damages to persons or property, or any other liabilities arising out of, or in any way related to the event. This includes claims for loss or damage to any property, or for death or injury to any individual.
  9. Damage. You are responsible for any damage either you or any of your guests may incur related to the event.
  10. Celebration Items. Candles or lanterns requiring a lit flame are not permitted. You must use battery-powered light-sources. No bird seed, rice, confetti, Chinese sky lanterns, sparklers or fireworks. Bubbles, lavender, and real flower petals are okay. Balloons in moderation. Flowers must be in their own containers and if indoors, must have an underlying tray to prevent water marks on floors and furnishings.
  11. Severe Weather. In the event of severely inclement weather (i.e., incessant rain, thunderstorms) on the date of your event, we will apply 80% of the amounts paid to a future date. If you choose not to re-book, no refund will be provided.
